With our last name being MCLAUGHLIN we like to search out true IRISH pubs and we definitely found the real deal at O’Brien’s – Irish Pub & Grill in Brandon, Fl. The food was good, the service excellent and it’s an all around neighborhood pub where you can meet new friends or enjoy a ‘pint’ with old ones! This is a Veteran owned establishment serving veterans and veteran organizations around the Tampa Bay area.
So, stop in and say HELLO and have some ‘fish and chips’ while you are out Christmas shopping and support local restaurants with such great community ties! They have already started their count down until St. Patrick’s Day!!! – it’s 89 days from today 12/17/18!
Sun City Center got its start as a “Del Webb” community, meaning it is a 55+ community including anything you might want or need, only 25 miles south of Tampa. Over 11,000 people now live in Sun City Center. Not only do we have affordable homes, we also have retail shopping, restaurants, gas stations, lakes, golf, dog park, banks, grocery stores, churches – pretty much anything you would want and its all accessible by golf carts! How fun is that! This is a very active lifestyle with generally 300 days of sunshine!
For more detailed information go to http://www.suncitycenter.orgor just give me a call at 410-991-7110-cell or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will be very happy to tell you all about our community. It doesn’t get much better than this! A clear, warm night in Apollo Beach, Fl., watching the Christmas-decorated boats show off their creativity. Crowds gathered to join in the fun. If you plan to go next year, I would definitely suggest going early as we did. We sat on the outside terrace and enjoyed the view, food and a few cocktails with friends.
The Blu Mangrove is one of my favorite places to sit on the outside patio with friends while enjoying a warm Florida afternoon. The Marina sits on the Manatee River and you can come by land or water, as dockside parking is available. Happy Hour is everyday starting at 11am ’til 6pm.
A favorite appetizer for me is the Ahi Tuna Wonton cups! The wonton cups are filled with seaweed salad, ahi tuna and topped with ginger and wasabi. 3 cups will run about $14.00.
Add an order of Doc’s Fish spread with tortilla chips for $10.00 and you have a meal!
Dinners are a little pricey, however; the presentation and taste are exquisite!
Have fun in the sun in Florida and visit these great hidden gems! Blu Mangrove is located at 102 Riviera Way, Palmetto, Fl. 34221, in the Riviera Dunes Marina.
A Big THANK YOU to the Anna Maria Island Privateers for a fantastic journey through town stopping at 4 pubs for the pirates to invade!! The Privateers crew and 30 new and old friends got together on the Skullywag Saturday for a fantastic day! The funds collected went to a worthy cause supporting college students and the ‘pirates’ had a wonderful journey! A smaller version of the Gasparilla!
All dressed as pirates and wenches we boarded the Skullywag. Lots of laughs and fun for all.
Five friends on an adventure for the day is what we were yesterday heading to Punta Gorda. Two of us are originally from Maryland, so we were ready for some Steamed Blue Crabs, Maryland style! And we definitely found them at Peace River Seafood on Rte 17 just outside the town of Punta Gorda. If you want fresh fish, shrimp and crabs stop in their Seafood Market and take some home! After filling up on crabs, corn and potatoes, we headed off to Fisherman’s Village. Loads of shopping, laughing, live music in the courtyard and ending our day with an adult beverage at Smuggler’s (located at the end of Fisherman’s Village on the Port Charlotte Bay). A wonderful and memorable day with lots of fun!
Being a native Marylander I am always looking for fresh seafood restaurants. The Sea Hut now called Crab Trap located in Palmetto has just what I like. Their family recipes originated from the Chesapeake Bay area in Maryland and the Crab Salad is full of lump blue crab! The atmosphere is that of Old Florida which is another favorite of mine. Prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. Easy to find, just off Hwy 19 and lots of parking. The bar overlooks the water and they have a comfortable sitting area should you have to wait for a table. They also have a small outdoor area to sit and enjoy a cocktail before dinner. A nice place to bring friends and family for lunch or dinner.
